Rainbow Studios making new original game for Wii

What's coming up for the Wii? - Image 1What’s in store for the Wii? Something, that’s for sure. It seems that one of THQ‘s developers is planning on a new piece of intellectual property meant for some good old Wii gaming, though no one’s sure what it is just yet.

IGN is reporting word of job openings at THQ’s Rainbow Studios, makers of the Pixar-licensed Cars game. They’re apparently looking for new people to work on a “Wii exclusive, original IP (intellectual property).”

On the THQ site, they’re looking for a Senior Tools Engineer, and a Senior Technical Character Artist. Details are pointing towards an action-adventure game which, if the two sets of openings are related, makes for quite a leap from the racing games done by Rainbow Studios.

On the other hand, we’re quite excited to see new content showing up for the Wii. It’s like developers are snuggling up to the cute little console and making special gifts for it. Of course, we wish we knew more about the IP was. Till then, feel free to speculate on what the new IP might be, given THQ’s track record and knowledge that it will probably be an action-adventure with (hopefully) some racing elements on the side.
