Ramp-boosting and butterfly dropkicking: F-Zero X and China Warrior VC gameplay videos

Two fresh doses of awesome retrogaming fun courtesy of the Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console headed your way with these gameplay videos of F-Zero X and China Warrior. We get you the skinny on the latest opportunity to boost to the finish line and kick a swarthy bald man in camouflage pants.

The first video’s all aboutF-Zero X – the first title in the F-Zero series to sport smooth, seamless 3D graphics released on the Nintendo 64. While obviously dated, the graphics here are still fresh – watching the video, you really get a sense of how fast things are going, and how precise and alert you have to be not to send yourself and your vehicle screaming off-track.

The second shows some nifty China Warrior gameplay, with you controlling the shirtless hero as he kicks and punches everything in his path – and I do mean everything. From Gregorian monks to wayward branches and debris, and even the occasional dishonorable butterfly, it’s up to you to get the Warrior safe for the ultimate boss fight – a showdown with the game’s recurring boss, a bald man in snazzy-looking camouflage pants.
