Rare Games will be a Rare Sight

We all know about the Revolution’s innovative feature to download old games from Nintendo’s Wi-Fi service and play them in full. Nintendo will be offering titles that have appeared on the NES to titles that have appeared on the N64. Sadly, we will not be able to download any games made by the Rare gaming company with this service. This means titles like Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, and Goldeneye 007 will be nowhere to be found.

Microsoft seems to be the one preventing titles like these from popping up on the Revolution’s virtual console. It seems as if Microsoft has been trying to distance Rare from Nintendo’s console market ever since its 2002 purchase of the company.

Rare representatives have confirmed the lack of their games appearing on the Revolution at the Game Developers Conference 2006.
