Rareware Will Be Very Rare on Revolution
I guess Rare games will be pretty rare indeed on Nintendo’s next-gen console.
IGN is reporting that at the Game Developers Conference 2006, Rare officials confirmed that Revolution’s “Virtual Console” will not see any Rare-owned licenses.
Which titles will this affect, you may ask? Well, how about games like Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Not going to happen on the Revolution. Gamers probably won’t see Goldeneye 007, either, unless both Rare and EA commit to Nintendo’s platform.
Yet any title developed by Rare that is fully-owned by Nintendo may still show up on the Revolution. Games like Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong Racing, and so on.
