Yes, PlayStation 3 owners, it’s official. The next-gen sequel to the frenetic third-person shooter that captured our hearts on the PS2, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, has recently hit gold status and will be storming its way into store shelves come October 30 of this year. It’s one week later than the proposed October 23 release date – but better late than never, we always say, moreso when something like Ratchet and Clank are involved. Awesome!

This bit of news comes directly from SCEA Line Producer Greg Phillips, via an update on the official PlayStation US Blog. He reassures players that even though they came up a bit short on the deadline, the team behind the game put the extra time to good use – cramming in as much detail and destruction as they could into that Blu-Ray disc of joy.

And it doesn’t stop there, with news of a demo featuring the Metropolis level just right around the corner. His post, unedited and presented as is:

I am also happy to report that we are wrapping up work on an updated and optimized version of our E3 demo (which is also available at Gamestop if you pre-order RCF) as I type this, and should be available via PSN in North America by October 11.

The demo will be of Metropolis, the signature level in the Ratchet & Clank franchise. Well, it was the signature level… before we blew it to bits in this demo.

With the release date nailed down and a demo soon to come, things are definitely looking good for Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. And as a bonus, here’s the latest trailer included in the update, you can check it out by clicking the Full article link below.
