One question which was posed was the number of available PS3s at launch, to which Maguire then answers that at least 220,000 units have been allotted for the UK alone. He also adds, ” (I) will try to get as many units as I possibly can”, as they are expecting to have “the biggest launch that the games industry has ever seen, in terms of day one numbers into the marketplace”.

Another issue that he addressed during the interview was why there will be none of the cheaper 20GB PS3 models available at launch. He explains that,

The response that we’re getting back from the marketplace – not only from retail, but also from consumers – is that what they really want is the best. He also quips that he is pleased that the PS3 will finally reach Europe after a number of delays. According to him, this is a very positive thing as it finally gives “people a chance to see exactly what the machine can do first-hand”.
