Real-world multiplayer: Jasman Toys announces Halo-themed laser tag rifles

The Covenant Plasma Rifle, soldier. Nah, the Carbine was muy bueno than this. - Image 1You thought the Halo 3 Beta multiplayer was the end-all of all Covenant/UNSC-tagging. Think again: Jasman Toys announced a couple of days ago a licensing agreement with Bungie Studios and Microsoft that will put a (harmless – hey, there are laws to consider) Covenant plasma rifle in your hands. See, more and more Halo is turning into a game – er, a toy, to be exact.

This arsenal will fall under Jasman’s Laser Command line of laser tag products. Weapons mentioned include the Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol, and the Energy Sword (oh yes, the Energy Sword, you melee-fragger you). Wish they included the Plasma Carbine, though (muy cooler profile, in our opinion), or even an MA5 assault rifle, plus the full Spartan armor, but we guess that’ll depend on the sales results of this themed product lineup – or future announcements.

But then, how could you resist staging your own Halo multiplayer beta in your backyard? Cortana says: This is the way the world ends. T.S. Eliot continues: Not with a bang, but with real people actually swinging (plastic) Energy Swords at each other. Ouch.
