Recipients of 8th Annual GDC Choice Awards announced
The big winner for the the recent 8th Annual Game Developers Conference Choice Awards was Valve Corporation’s Portal as it won the prestigious Game of the Year award as well as three other honors for its innovative and unique gameplay. It looks like Valve Corporation’s FPS puzzle game Portal was the show stealer for the evening as it received three honors including Game of the Year at the 8th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards.
The event honors the developers and key figures in the video game industry during the past year and recognizes their efforts in delivering the best and the most innovative titles for gamers everywhere.
Other notable titles that were distinguished during the event were 2K Boston‘s Bioshock (Best Audio, Best Visual Art, and Best Writing), Crytek‘s Crysis, and Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, among others.

- 2007 Best Audio – BioShock (2K Boston/2K Australia / 2K Games)
- 2007 Best Debut – Crackdown (Real Time Worlds / Microsoft Game Studios)
- 2007 Innovation – Portal (Valve)
- 2007 Best Handheld Game – The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo / Nintendo)
- 2007 Best Downloadable Game – Flow (thatgamecompany / Sony Computer Entertainment)
- 2007 Game of the Year – Portal (Valve)
