Red Octane responds to defective guitar controller issue
Are you having problems with your Guitar Hero II jam sessions? Can’t do a proper whammy without choking? Well, the problem might not be with you, but with your controller, and Red Octane’s recently taken some steps to address and rectify the issue some gamers are having with their controller.
Over at Kotaku, Ken, one of their readers, got a reply from Red Octane. Here’s what Red Octane has to say on the issue:
We have isolated this issue to two model numbers that can be found on the guitar’s packaging. The numbers are 95065 and 95055. We are asking that customers who purchased their items from a retailer perform an exchange with that respective store (for a model number other than the defective two listed above). Customer’s who purchased through our online store can complete an rma request for their defective item and we will exchange it for a fully function guitar controller.
No word on whether you’ll be paying for shipping costs if you bought online, but at least it’s a step towards rectifying a potentially bad PR problem on behalf of Red Octane.
