Ubisoft’s hack and slasher Wiixclusive Samurai game was well-received by the critics, but looks as if it’s not so much the case with gamers. Michael Pachter reports that Red Steel 2 has sold some 50,000 copies only in the U.S. for the month of March.
Take note however, that that’s not for the whole month of March yet as Red Steel 2 was launched only on March 23rd, “less than half a month before NPD’s March reporting period ended on April 3,” noted a Ubisoft spokesperson.
“Considering that the NPD sales only accounted for 12 days on the store shelves and that NPD doesn’t include all retailers we are looking forward to a complete month of sales data to see where we stand.”
The original Red Steel title, which sold over a million copies, was a 2006 Wii launch title.
