Red Steel Character Shots

While the last Red Steel visual goodie bag featured a handful of gameplay-perspective screenshots, these two off-the-press artwork come from a different perceptive. They pose for the camera. And they look just as good stand-still as they do in action.

One shot features… er, we’re thinking that’s the hero and the fiancee, but we can’t be so sure (of course, many of us guys would fight for a girl who could look that good with her back to a Wiimote). The other features a guy you’ve probably met very recently: he’s in Image #5 in the Wii press conference Red Steel screenshots, and now he’s holding the tanto (short sword) with his katana, probably Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū-style (just like you do in Image #3 of the press con screenshots).

The job of the hero in this story is to save his fiancee from the clutches of a villain intent on taking control of the Japanese underworld. With the presence of double-wielded swords now confirmed (probably even double-wield guns, too?), we’d love to see how it in action with the Wiimote-Nunchuck control arrangement. On that note, it would be nice to hear more story details, especially on the main character and his girl friend. Like, what their names are. None of our past coverage featured their names.
