Reggie Fils-Aime still pushing for GTA on Wii

GTA Wii, anyone?

Mr. Fils-Aime is one very vocal person, and most of the time (although some people will say that they don’t get it at first), he’s only after the welfare of Nintendo. So, as Nintendo of America‘s President, you can’t blame him for pushing for a Wii version of Grand Theft Auto.

He doesn’t seem like he’s going to give up on this plan soon. We’ve reported before that he and the developers of the uber famous GTA series, Rockstar Games, have been talking about this plan. Up to now though, there hasn’t been a clear statement or announcement from the parties involved whether Rockstar and the game’s publisher, Take-Two Interactive, have agreed on a Wii version of GTA.

But for those hoping that this grand plan will push through, you might be interested to know that Mr. Fils-Aime hasn’t given up. In an interview on an American TV station, he stated that Ninty’s done its part in convincing the devs and publisher to have a version of the game on the Wii. Now it’s up to Rockstar Games and Take-Two to make a decision.

Maybe come 2007, all our questions regarding this issue will be answered. It would be nice though – not to mention interesting – to play GTA on the Wii. So for now, we’ll keep hoping for a Wii version of the game.
