Release of Yellow Dog for PS3 announced

Yellow Dog

Some answers to some questions…

Why should I bother?
Terra Soft will launch YDL 5.0 with support for Sony’s PS3.

When will the thing ship?
On Monday, November 26, you get to download Install and Source ISOs of the thing via YDL.net Enhanced. On December 11 you can purchase DVDs from the Terra Soft Store. On the week of Christmas you can download the Install and Source ISOs via public mirrors.

So will this come with instructions or something?
There are mailing lists here and there are HOWTOs here. There will also be a database driven help desk available for six months from the date of purchase for users who choose to purchase Installation Support and maintain a YDL.net Enhanced account. They’ve also got hourly technical support for folks who need assistance with device driver porting, application development, or cluster design and configuration.

Are we telling you guys to get this no matter what?
No we’re not. We’re just giving you guys a heads-up in case you’re into this kind of thing.

So what, emulators run on Linux anyways?
