When we talk about the Nintendo 64, sooner or later GoldenEye 007 will be mentioned. Fans of Rare’s N64 shooter may be in for a surprise soon, as rumor has it that Activision is prepping a remake for Wii and DS.

GoNintendo (via Destructoid) reports that a leaked survey from Activision says that the Wii version will modernize the story, with Daniel Craig stepping in as James Bond. Most, if not all, of the original’s stages will be in the remake along with the weapons and four-player split screen. An eight-player online mode is reportedly being added.

Meanwhile, a report from Eurogamer says that Eurocom and n-Space are developing the Wii remake along with a DS version. Eurocom aren’t strangers to the Bond universe since they were responsible for the N64 game, The World Is Not Enough, and James Bond 007: Nightfire for the Gamecube.

Both versions of the remake will reportedly be revealed at E3 and will hit retail in November.
