Reserve European PS3 gamertags by November 17?

So, have you figured out your Sony Online identity yet? Well, for our European friends, you might want to start drafting that list of preferred handles that you’d want your buddies to know you as. There’s this rumor that once the PS3’s online service goes up this Friday (in time for the North American release of the PS3), Euro gamers will also be able to at least reserve their preferred gamertags.

According to the poster over at the DCEmu forums, “Sony will enable anyone, regardless of location, to sign up at PlayStation 3’s official site and register a username for when we eventually play online.”

Of course this is yet to be confirmed, and we’ll all have to wait for Friday to see if this is true, but then again, I for one, would hate to get stuck with some combination of my name, initials and birthdate AGAIN.
