Resident Evil PSP petition now 17,000 signatures strong (and rising fast!)

Ada Wong REEEEAAALLY wants to be on the PSP! - Image 1“Keep me updated on the number of signatures,” replied a Capcom representative. “If you get over 10,000 that will draw significant attention.” So. If Capcom wanted updates on the Resident Evil PSP petition, then updates they shall get.

Those of you guys, like PhoenixBh (thanks for the tip earlier!), who have been keeping track of the petition would know that, yesterday, it had already raked in around 10,000 signatures. While that in itself was quite a big achievement given the petition’s humble beginnings of 13 signatures when we first reported on it, you might be impressed to know that today’s total already has 17,000 signatures.

Do the math: that’s over 6,000 petitioners in a span of 24 hours. Even articles on Digg rarely get that much hits! Hopefully, Capcom really takes this into account. The number of people (Ada Wong included) who reeeaaally want to have a Resident Evil on the PSP is just astounding.

As of writing, each refresh (every five minutes) of the petition’s page would clock around ten to twenty new signatures. If this keeps on going, there would be no doubt that it’ll hit 20,000 very soon. Probably, by the time you read this, it may as well already have broken 20K!

Here’s the monumental screenshot we took earlier when the counter (after much refreshing of the page) finally hit 17,000:
