Ted Price - Resistance 2 is just about finished - Image 1Good news for those who have been waiting on news for Resistance 2‘s development! According to the studio’s prez Ted Price, the game is just about finished.

For those hoping to get a shot at the game’s public beta, Price also revealed new details on what you can expect – if you get in, that is.

First off, eight-player online co-op will be available for the beta, and it will have its own storyline – though you won’t be playing through the single-player storyline, although Price didn’t elaborate on this.

You can choose from three different character classes: soldier, medic, and spec ops. All of them can be leveled up – but only to a limited extent.

The soldier is, surprise surprise, the tank. His primary weapon is the HVAP wraith minigun, which can deploy a moveable shield. The medic is the only class that can heal, and uses a weapon called the medicator (is that an oxymoron?) to siphon energy from enemies. The last class, spec ops, is the team’s damage dealer. He is equipped with a scoped weapon, can attack from a distance, and can drop ammo packs.

Seeing as the public beta supports up to eight players in co-op, it’s your choice what combination you want your team to comprise of. Your team can try for eight medics, no one will stop you. I wish you luck with that though.
