Resistance Fall of Man: Grim and Gritty Action
The title, Resistance: Fall of Man suggests that it is not a happy-happy-joy-joy game. Here, no one could expect pink and yellow ponies happily prancing in rainbows, or fairy godmothers to grant all your wishes.
One could expect here, however, an alternate universe where World War II and communism didn’t even happen. Rather, creepy alien creatures known as Chimera took over the planet and as US Army ranger Nathan Hale, it is your task to kick alien butt, saving humanity in the process.
To top it all off, players are treated to a grim and gritty setting, equally loaded with grim and gritty weapons. And this is where all the fun comes in:
- augur projectiles that tunnel through objects
- the “sapper” that shoots life-energy-sucking goo
- sniper rifles with slow-mo capabilities (so you could still have some time to dodge incoming bullets fired at ya, then wreak havoc once the opportunity presents itself)
- the bomb “hedgehog,” that shoots off 50 spikes that actually assesses where each (spike) should go
- rocket launchers that virtually hunt down targets (a fired rocket could be suspended in mid-air until you find your target)
And those are just SOME of the weapons to be showcased in the said game. Man, if I were those aliens, I’d have goosebumps just thinking of those. Talk about major alien carnage.
So, if you’re willing to trade rainbow ponies over cool ammo, then the grim world of Resistance: Fall of Man by Insomniac Games is something to look forward to this November.
