Retailer released Pokemon Pearl and Diamond early
With a few days to go before Pokemon Pearl makes it to the store shelves, we were beginning to imagine the first fans to be screaming with glee would be the fellows who pre-ordered their game. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case for a member of the Destructoid forums, as he narrates what appears to be an “unofficial” early release of these games at a store in his locale.
Going into details on the incident, Attix states that he visited a Navy Exchange in Goose Creek, South Carolina, when he spotted a store displaying copies of both Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond on its shelves. He bought Pearl, and further proved that it was an authentic game by posting a picture at the forums. That would be the picture above, complete with and “In ‘yo face!”-style caption to let the rest of the fans know they will still be waiting for their copy.
We’re not sure what just happened here – did the store intentionally release the game early to win out against the competition, or did they (the store) honestly not know that the game wasn’t to be released until next week (April 22, to be exact)? Whatever the case, we congratulate Attix for this gem of a find (no pun intended).
