Revolution base is a power supply

NintrendoRevFuture Publishings ‘Official Nintendo Magazine‘ has an article stating that the base of the Nintendo’s Revolution is actually a power supply. Could this mean that the main unit can be battery powered or some such, and removed from the base to be taken and used elsewhere? This is purely un-substantiated guesses, but wouldn’t it be cool! aesthetically it would be a fantastic idea, keeping everything tidy  and compact – unlike the blob sitting next to the X360 (or hanging from a string 🙂 ).
I wonder what other interesting benefits this sort of design could bring – let us know your thoughts!

Note: It seems Future Publishing were not happy with these scans (and others) and have been removed. Its a pity, any news on the Rev is good news.
