Revolution Gets Graffiti Ecko Style
In an exclusive interview with Game Daily Biz, fashion designer turned game designer Marc Ecko talked about making his first game entitled Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. Ecko describes how he started off writing the storyline when his company was in debt, and after solving their financial problems he was able to pursue his dream of having his own video game. He did everything he could to recreate the feel of Brooklyn from his own life experiences, and he’s also responsible for most of the in-game dialogue. This title has been the topic of controversy worldwide because some believe it encourages vandalism, and some areas have even considered banning it.
Now, you’re probably wondering what this has to do with Nintendo’s Revolution. In the latter part of the interview, the topic of a Revolution version in which the controller would be used to control virtual spray cans was mentioned, and Ecko said that he was already working on it! While he loved the idea of his game on current gen consoles, he said that a hardware change is needed in order to fully deliver the graffiti creating experience. Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed, there’s a good chance you’ll be coloring your Revolution graffiti later this year.
