Rising Star bringing Dungeon Explorer to European handhelds

Dungeon Explorer - Image 1Pocket Gamer reports that another classic title will soon be making its way to handheld systems in Europe thanks to publisher Rising Star, who is currently working on a handheld version of Dungeon Explorer.

Dungeon Explorer was first released for the TurboGrafx-16 in 1989 and centered around a quest for the Ora Stone. Players can choose to play as a fighter, thief, warlock, witch, bishop, elf, bard, or knome, and special character classes such as the Princess can be unlocked as players get further into the game.

Details about the handheld version are still scarce but hopefully it will also feature a multiplayer mode – something that both the original and the Virtual Console version had. Dungeon Explorer is currently slated for a February 2008 release.
