Do you think Diablo III is workable on a console? Can’t quite imagine it, eh? Well dear Rob Pardo of Blizzard thinks it’s “theoretically possible”. How so? Read up the whole buzz at the full article.
Do you think Diablo III is workable on a console? Can’t quite imagine it, eh? Well dear Rob Pardo of Blizzard thinks it’s “theoretically possible”.
At the recently held, and successful, WorldWide Invitational Event last weekend, Blizzard’s vice president of game design did make it clear that Diablo III will only be for PC and Mac exclusively. However, this statement does not necessarily preclude the possibility of it ever being ported to consoles. Theoretically, at least.
Says he, “I think it’s theoretically possible. It would have some control changes that I think you’d have to make.. But it’s probably, of our major franchises, the one that’s most console friendly, for sure.”
It won’t exactly have to be a redesigned game, but there are a lot of concerns and issues that must be dealt with, if ever, such as the point-and-click spells and target selection. “Out of StarCraft, Warcraft or WoW, Diablo would be the easiest game to translate. But it would still take a bit of work.”
Now this would be one theory I wouldn’t mind seeing come to reality. No rush, Blizzard. We can be very patient.
