Rock Band official site up
Here’s a little follow up to our earlier report on the video game Rock Band. Wait! What Rock Band? Well, don’t worry because you haven’t missed a lot of things yet. The title has just been announced by Electronic Arts (EA), MTV, and Harmonix for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (PS3).
If you really want to know more about the game, we’re happy to tell you that its official site just went live. Aside from usual things that you can see in a regular video game web page, there’s also a forums section which zeroes in on different topics like album reviews, rock bands, the history of rock, and even the best and worst band names ever. The site is really fun, if you ask us.
Actually, Rock Band has been brewing for quite a while now. During this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), EA announced that it will be publishing an MTV-themed Harmonix title. If you’re so out of sync to the latest happening in the gaming industry, be informed that MTV Networks acquired Harmonix Games for a hefty sum of US$ 175 million.
Ea mentioned during its “announcement of an announcement” last weekend that this title is very unique and it’s most aspiring by far. Well, honestly, it is and has the making of a great title. Rock Band will have four instrument-based controllers composed of a lead guitar, a bass guitar, a drum kit, and a microphone. The game then allows players to actually jam together like a real band.
