Rock Band: unboxing the instruments

You can’t have a band without the instruments, so make sure you have a lot of space around your console when you buy Rock Band (PS3, PS2, Xbox 360). Wired.com got their hands on an early Rock Band package and the box alone already looks humongous.

Along with the drum kit, the guitar and the microphone you’re also going to get two Headset units when you buy Rock Band.

You’re going to need space to play the drums and guitar, not to mention enough space for the vocals of your group to headbang. Don’t worry about how they’re all going to be plugged into your console; the package includes a USB dongle for the Xbox 360 and a hub for the PlayStation 3 and PS2.

Assembling the drum kit may be the most tiresome part of the game – and the game hasn’t even started out yet. Well Rock Band is worth the trouble of assembling it. The drum kit only takes six steps to assemble and while the parts look intimidating when it’s all scattered, it’s actually pretty easy if you just follow the instructions.
