Rock Band wins Imagina 2008 Best Video Game award
Imagine walking away with a prestigious award for Best Video Game. Harmonix‘s and MTV Games‘ Rock Band did precisely that in the 3D visualization technology category, edging out fellow heavy-hitting nominees such as Blizzard‘s StarCraft 2 and World of Warcraft. More on the victory after the jump.
Good news for fans of Harmonix‘s and MTV Games‘ Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii): the game bagged the Best Video Game award of the 2008 Imagina Awards, beating notable fellow nominees such the StarCraft 2 teaser and the intro to the Wrath of the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Imagina, it’s basically an event which highlights 3D technology in various genres such as architecture and industry, landscape and territory, and media and entertainment.
The awarding ceremonies took place at the Grimaldi forum in Monaco – an event in which thirty different countries participated. The victory is arguably a sweet one for Harmonix and MTV Games’, considering the various setbacks that have plagued Rock Band‘s release.
