While controversy, protests, and follow-up explanations still haunt Manhunt 2‘s expected release for North America this Halloween, the game has at least been given a confirmed green light.

We’ll be taking another look at the how this PlayStation Portable and Wii title is faring over in Europe, where Rockstar is currently appealing the British Board of Film Classification‘s ban on the said game. The company was recently contacted for possible updates regarding their case, and they replied with this statement:

It is very good news that Manhunt 2 has now been rated Mature for North America and will be released October 31. However, we have no updated information on the BBFC status of the game.

There you have it. We advise readers to drop by again in case we pick up more information regarding the appeal. On that note, though, this author does wonder: If the BBFC makes a similar ruling as the ESRB did for the game, just what sort of edits will the board require? We’d like to hear from the readers regarding their thoughts on this matter.
