Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’… Loco Roco sequel coming up

Yes! Those wonderful, singing, yellow blobs of joy and happiness are bound to make a comeback, and that’s coming straight from the horse’s Phil Harrison‘s mouth.

In a recent interview with MTV, the Sony Computer Entertainment President (after a couple of swipes at other competing consoles and handhelds *cough*) made the revelation that they are indeed planning to bring back Loco Roco. To quote a passage from the interview:

Did he have any year-end thoughts on perhaps the most unconventional game Sony published this year, “LocoRoco”?

“It was a very successful game for us and we’re continuing to evolve the franchise,” he said. “We’re going to bring ‘LocoRoco’ back in a couple of new ways with some new friends in the future.”

So there you have it. Loco and Friends sounds pretty good to us, and considering the fact that the staff behind it is capable of generating new content and new levels for the game as proven by their Halloween and Christmas specials, then we feel that there’s a whole lot more happiness to look forward to.
