Rumor: Australia's OFLC won't censor Grand Theft Auto 4? - Image 1According to a rumored statement from Rockstar, the Australian release of Grand Theft Auto 4 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 won’t be receiving any sort of censors. Grand Theft Auto 4: Game won't be censored by Australia's OFLC - Image 1Will Grand Theft Auto 4 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 be released uncut? While it’s a prospect many a gamer is looking forward to, for Australians, this might be the case.

This much was disclosed by a Rockstar spokesman during an inquiry as to whether the country’s OFLC might attempt to censor parts of the game.

No GTA has been censored since Vice City. (Grand Theft Auto) IV has been rated in its entirety, the rating is on the OFLC website .

We can’t confirm Rockstar’s statement for the moment, so we’ll be putting it under the rumor mill until more solid info can be found. It’s no secret that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto franchise has been hounded by critics for its violent (and at times controversial) content.

We imagine this speculation may help calm those worried that GTA4 may experience the same fate Manhunt 2 (Wii, PSP, PS2) encountered a few months ago. The game is currently scheduled for an April 29 worldwide release – drop by again in case we receive any related updates.
