RUMOR: Best Buy Wii inventory?
There’s nothing like a rumor to keep our curiosity radars form buzzing. And a rumor is what I have right now, and it’s what you’re going to get as well.
Anyway, while we were passing by the GameTrailers forums, we happened to notice a seemingly inconspicuous thread. It read: “Tentative Best Buy Wii Inventory”. Of course, that got us really curious, and we’re sure by now you are too, so let me spill the juicy details.
December 32nd posted that a supposedly Best Buy employee said that Best Buy will apparently have around 80 to 90 Wii units in stock come launch. Of course the numbers may vary in different locations (from 120 consoles in “the more popular stores”, to a staggering 24 units in others). He said that around 60 Red Steel discs will be available, while Trauma Center will be around 30.
Moreover, he says that the numbers will most likely double by November. Initially, Best Buy should get the Wii shipments by today or tomorrow, but it was pushed back to November 19 “most likely to stop the overload of employees checking”. However, December 32nd reiterates that this is still a “tentative inventory that has yet to be received by ANY of the stores, but it is the actual information from the inventory orders.”
Hmm…curiouser and curiouser. But remember guys, THIS IS STILL A RUMOR, so don’t let this stop you from camping at your local Best Buy store for the Wii (for the win?). The guy who posted this even said that he’s still camping out, as “its a strong possibility that parents of little Johnny Everykid will be waking up early enough to get the drop on those of us who underestimate the lure of the Wii”.
