RUMOR: Capcom not happy with PS3’s SIXAXIS controller, won’t be using it in upcoming games

Will DMC4 have SIXAXIS support? - Image 1According to a post on the Video Gamers of America website, Japanese video game giant Capcom has expressed disappointment with Sony‘s SIXAXIS controller.

The post says that in an interview with Gamer.TV on Sunday, Capcom’s Head of R&D stated that the company will not be utilizing the PS3’s motion-sensing controller in any of their upcoming PS3 releases. The reason is that they believe Sony implemented the motion-sensing controls “just to be different, rather than to be innovative like Nintendo“.

Does this mean that the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4 will not be utilizing the SIXAXIS’ motion-sensing capabilities? Capcom has previously stated that SIXAXIS support was going to be the only difference between the different platform versions of the game, so the games in question could be those after DMC4.

We’re still waiting for updates on this one, so let’s tag it under “rumor” for now. If one of you guys out there managed to see that particular interview, leave a comment and let us know what you think about this development.
