RUMOR: Contra 3 to show up in Virtual Console?

Oooh. Talk about up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A, select, start!

Anyway, the reason for all this code-madness is the report from the folks at Kotaku that the ESRB has already given the SNES title Contra 3: The Alien Wars a rating of E10+. Even though an ESRB rating doesn’t necessarily equate to availability, this at least means that it’s bound for a release… eventually. And where else would this release happen but on the Wii’s Virtual Console?

Also, since only two titles have been announced to come out for the VC on January 1, would Nintendo try to squeeze in one more well-loved title by that time?

Let’s not get out hopes up yet, but we’ll definitely stay on the look-out, just in case.
