Fallout 3 - Image 1Rumors have been circulating on the internet that Bethesda‘s post-apocalyptic themed video gaming Fallout 3 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC) may not be making it to the land down under.

A poster on the GameSpot forums stated that the game has been denied classification by the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) Board of Australia.

The rumor stated that Fallout 3 was denied classification because it features use of Morphine. The presence of this in the game is said to fall under the OFLC set of reasons for not classifying a video game, specifically this one:

Depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults

If this rumor holds true, then the game can not be sold on retails shelves in Australia. In addition, we can probably expect a resurgence in the talks on expanding the rating system in the country from being limited to MA15+ to going as high as R18+.
