Rumor: Microsoft to ready another round of Xbox 360 price cuts

According to an industry insider, Microsoft is planning to reduce the price of their 60GB Xbox 360 to the current price of the 20GB bundle. More details on this rumor are available in the full article.

Don’t look now, but an industry insider has hinted that Microsoft might be setting the Xbox 360 console up for another series of price slashes by this earlier September.

Even more lucrative about this rumor, however, is that it sees the 60GB Xbox 360 getting cut down to US$ 299, the current price of the 20GB SKU. Here is the rest of the price range raised by the insider:

• Arcade (no hard drive) to $199
• Pro (60GB) to $299
• Elite (120GB) to $399

The insider further hinted that the Forza 2 Platinum Hits release would include all of the game’s previous downloadable content to boost its sellability. Several other hardware and game bundles are also predicted to arrive near the holiday season to make the most of MS’ price cuts.
