Rumor: New Dragon Quest title for the Wii?

Dragon Quest Swords - Image 1Here’s a whole bevy of interesting Square Enix related news from several Japanese game magazines. When interviewed by Famitsu, Shinji Hashimoto notes that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for the Wii will make full use of the Wiimote. Hashimoto also notes that there will be talk of new projects at the Square Enix party.

Speaking of the Square Enix party, in Gamelabo, another Japanese magazine, it was noted that it would be possible for players of the DS title Dragon Quest IX: Protectors of the Sky to transfer monsters that they raised on the DS to the Wii. This of course has led to a lot of rumormongering, as it was previously announced that Dragon Quest IX will be an exclusive DS title.

Perhaps this is what Hashimoto was talking about when he said that talk of new projects will heard at the Square Enix party. Of course there is always that possibility that the said Gamelabo article was talking about  monster transfer to Dragon Quest Swords and for a new Dragon Quest title on the Wii

In related news, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire, is said to see a possible July release date in Japan.
