Rumor: Nintendo developing new snowboard title for Wii Balance board?
It’s interesting what sort of insider info you can pick up at the bar, especially when it involves possible new game releases. samusx of the NeoGAF forums was narrating how he entered a lively conservation with a girl, who turned out to be a Nintendo employee over in Japan.
Midway through their discussion, samusx’s new lady friend talked about a couple of interesting details, the first of which was about the upcoming Wii Balance board. Not exactly hot news (it’s been announced way back during the E3), but what the Nintendo lady said a little later during the chat did raise eyebrows – Nintendo’s apparently working on a new snowboard title to use the Balance board.
So, where does that leave us? At the moment, the Wii console’s only dedicated snowboard title is Electronic Arts’ SSX Blur. At the very least, the lady might just have been reiterating one of Wii Fit‘s sports mini-games. Or if you’re being real optimistic, could we be looking at a possible revival of Nintendo’s celebrated 1080 sports games for the GameCube (1080 Avalanche) and N64 (1080 Snowboarding)?
There’s not really much info backing up this juicy bit of speculation, so we strongly advice the readers to keep a stiff upper lip until more evidence can be found.
