Rumor: PSP-4000 is in the works, Sony bringing back UMD
It’s possible that we missed this one because we got all worked up about the other tidbit we got from N4G user Super_Secret. Nonetheless, this is just as juicy as any, so we’ll still bring it out here though it’s quite a couple of days old. Super_Secret apparently also gave out a “reveal” regarding Sony‘s handhelds, claiming that the Brite model will indeed be phased out — by a new PSP-4000.
Thanks to cmbeke for the heads up!

According to PS3Center, Super_Secret also gave out a “reveal” regarding Sony‘s handhelds. He said that the PSP-3000 will indeed be phased out (what a short life span it’ll have, so it turns out),but not by the PSP Go. Instead, there’s a spankin’ brand new PSP-4000 reportedly in development.
Get this: they’re putting back the UMD drive into it. As it is, that is definitely juicy. No other “details” or speculations have come up regarding this, but for now, we leave this short music video for Sony to express what we think about this back and forth decision-making on dropping the UMD.
Happy new week everyone!
