RUMOR: Silicon Knights Ditching Unreal Engine 3.0?
No doubt about it. Many are anticipating Too Human’s release next spring. However, a change in its game engine MIGHT cause a delay to this third-person-slashing-with-a-Norse- mythology-twist game’s release.
You see, rumor has it that developer Silicon Knights (who brought us games such as Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, as well as Metal Gear Solid) won’t be using the Unreal Engine 3 for Too Human, which is made for the Xbox 360 console.
Apparently, Unreal Engine 3 is quite difficult to work with, though still quite popular with other games tailored for next-gen consoles (like Gears of War, for example). Reports say that “over 30 different game developers” use the said engine. At this moment, it’s not yet confirmed whether Silicon Knights will use a new engine or not, or retain some bits and pieces from Unreal Engine 3. Hopefully, fans won’t experience an insufferable delay for Too Human‘s release because of this supposed “engine switch.”
But don’t worry, Too Human fans: this is just a rumor. As of the moment we still can’t confirm whether it’s true or not. Do stay tuned here at QJ for updates and the latest dish on Too Human.
