Rumor: Target putting Xbox 360 Core System to sleep?
Just a little over a week after rumors sprouted about Best Buy planning to axe the Xbox 360 core model, another retailer is reportedly making a similar move. We’ve just picked up word through Joystiq that Target is rumored to be planning to take the Core model off their shelves as well. This info was sent out by a Target employee, who indicated this via a camera shot of the store’s PDA which indicated that the Core model was discontinued:
Given that there isn’t any official word yet from either the retailers or Microsoft, we’ll just have to wait until this info gets confirmed. But given that all three models will receive a price drop – bringing the HDD-equipped Pro into a more affordable price range – the Core’s days may already be numbered.
