Rumor: U2 to be featured in possible Guitar Hero III sequel?
If your head is still spinning with the number of sequels to Activision‘s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii), don’t look now because a new challenger has arrived. This time, British rock band U2 will supposedly take center stage from a mysterious comment posted on the Rumor Mill of EGM magazine.
You can find out more about it in the full article!
If you’re ready for another round of grinding through the rumor mill, then an article in this month’s Electronics Gaming Monthly magazine may spark your interest. Today’s topic focuses on Activision‘s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii) and its possible sequels starring some of our favorite rock gods.
Here’s the snippet as posted on EGM‘s Rumor Mill article:
We already know Guitar Hero IV is on its way, but I’m hearing two more Guitar Hero titles are also in the works, bringing Guitar Hero III‘s sequel count to four. And one may star a group that rocks in mysterious ways.
Throwing in a little speculation on the side, the last line may actually be a reference to the song “Mysterious Ways” from the 1991 album Achtung Baby by U2. Considering, there’s already been supposed word of Aerosmith signing up to do one of the Guitar Hero III sequels, so this idea may not be totally off.
Whether this rumor is true or not, drawing in such big names from the music industry is a sure sign of how the gaming industry is slowly spreading its boundaries and changing into a genre everyone outside it can eventually relate to.
