Rumor: Wii and DS to get new Tales games?
Just about a day ago, we made a report on an email being sent out by Namco Bandai. For those who don’t recall, the email contained a questionnaire covering their Tales franchise, and quizzed recipients on matters like their prefered character designer (Fujishima ftw!) or console.
What added intrigue was the timely launch of Japan‘s Tales of Destiny II title for the PSP and a follow-up announcement indicating more information to be released on February 21 on their site.
And while we’re still wondering what this information could be, it seems there is another rumor that ties in with the buzz – about more Tales titles making their way to the Nintendo DS and Wii. Going into detail:
- The Nintendo DS will be receiving Tales of Phantasia 2, with the official announcement being made this Monday. It will be noted that the DS already carries Tales of the Tempest.
- The Wii will receive a remake of Tales of the Abyss (PS2), followed up by Tales of the Harmony, which takes places 10 minutes after Abyss. The Tales of the Abyss remake is speculated to launch in Japan this May.
This information was dropped in over at the Jeux France site, with nary an official announcement from Namco Bandai regarding the games. Once again, the best thing we can advice the readers is to wait until February 21 – when the company (hopefully) clarifies their intent.
