Rumors Department: Is Mercury Meltdown Type R Permanently In Deep Freeze?

mercuryLast week, news surfaced that Australian-based QVS will distribute Mercury Meltdown Type R in the continent. The title came out on various lists of confirmed games for the upcoming Wii. It even had a release date (December 2, 2007) and price ($89.95). This week, QVS issued a statement that no official confirmation of the title’s release was given by its publisher. “We are only the Australian distributor for Ignition and have not been officially told this is coming out or even in development.” In fact, the QVS website‘s list of Wii games is total vacuum.

Mercury Meltdown Type R is a puzzle maze involving a moving table top. A player moves the table top, presumably via the Wiimote, in all directions to control a blob of mercury through a maze. But looks like the real puzzler here is whether or not Mercury Type R will be re-confirmed for the Wii.
