Rumors: Wii Price and Launch

rumorWhile we await Nintendo’s official Wii launch details, we saw an article that got our attention. According to MCV, the Wii console will be out by November 24, with a $280 tag. MCV is confident that they have the right info and backs up their statement.

Whoa. There are a lot of rumors and analysis on when the launch will be, but not this close. If that’s the case a lot of people will be able to try out the Wii before the holidays. Once the reviews come out positive, there will be more buyers by December. The price is just right as well, it means that it’ll be a lot cheaper than the Xbox360 and the PS3.

However, according to Nintendo UK, the report was “definitely not right”, and that the facts issued were only speculatory and not factual. We don’t know what the representative was exactly talking about: the price or the launch date? Both? We hope that the rumor was wrong with the price; that it’s actually lower.

To get the real deal we’ll have to listen in on the company’s press conference next Friday. We’ll report you the official statement as soon as we get them!
