Ryzom adds servers for free trial

Ryzom RingDue to “unprecedented demand”, Ryzom Ring Paris-based developer Nevrax has announced the expansion of it’s mirror server line-up, increasing the total bandwidth for downloads to 600 Mbps. This is to support the currently on-going Free Trial of Ryzom Ring, an expansion to Saga Of Ryzom that seems to be enjoying great success. Since no credit card is required for the trial, thousands of players have been downloading the game installer in the past few days. The additional mirror servers are supposed to ensure a “quick and smooth gaming experience” for players of the MMORPG.

Ryzom Ring is a set of editing tools for The Saga Of Ryzom, enabling players to create and share own maps, their contents (NPCs, monsters, terrain and so on) and mechanics fully customizable. These maps will be hosted on Nevrax’ servers and integrated directly into the Ryzom game world called Atys, either open to all players of the game, or only select few from, say, a guild.

With this ground-breaking technology, Nevrax hopes to “bring back the power to the players”, enabling them to “create their own adventures and lands and to share them”.

If you feel like checking out The Saga Of Ryzom, you can download an Unlimited Free Trial client at the game’s website, the only catch being that a trial account is restricted to the “newcomer’s island”.
