S.R.A.C.S. brings classic arcade game back to PC
S.R.A.C.S is based on Choplifter, the 1982 home computergame which went arcade back in 1985. The game has come to a full circle as it returns to its PC roots with updated, state-of-the-art graphics. In S.R.A.C.S, you assume the role of a combat helicopter pilot attempting to save hostages being held in camps in territory ruled by the evil Bungeling Empire. Rumor has it the game was inspired by the American rescue attempt during the Iran hostage crisis back in the 70s.
The latest version will take through 40 missions all over the hottest spots in the world: North Korea, Columbia, Bosnia, and more. Each rescue mission is full of hostile air defenses. The update also sports easy and intuitive controls, making S.R.A.C.S. suitable for both newbies and old fans. Other game features include:
- Arcade feeling based on Choplifter
- Cool power-ups
- Choice of three helicopters
- Day and night operations
- Real deployment areas
- 3D graphics
S.R.A.C.S. from Eclypse and Frogster Interactive Pictures AG is set to fly in January 2007.
