Sakura Shinguji - Image 1Evil comes to Western shores and the Imperial Capital Defense is on the job – NIS America confirms that Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, will be localized for North America, and fans can play as Sakura and the rest of Team Hana in their Kobu on the Nintendo Wii.

Combining dating-sim elements into the Kobu-fighting battle system, the game’s social elements will affect the team’s combination attacks, much like in the anime from which it was based. Like other mecha, Team Hana’s Kobu can switch between humanoid and aircraft forms, allowing you to fight in the ground or in mid-air.

The Sakura Wars game takes place in NYC, where you get to play across eight chapters, each of which are about four to five hours long. Your interaction within the span of the game will decide which of the six endings you’ll wind up with. There will also be a lot of mini-games and other bonus features on the side, plus a few more when you complete the main story. Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love is slated for a Fall 2009 release.
