Sakurai Discusses Non-Nintendo Characters

SnakeSnake. Snake? SNAAAKE! This inclusion of Solid Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl was one of the biggest surprises at E3 last year and now Masahiro Sakurai has revealed a bit more on his plans for non-Nintendo characters on the Japanese Smash Bros. Dojo site.

Firstly, Anime and Manga characters will NOT be in Super Smash Bros. so don’t worry. We won’t see any Chidoris, Gomu Gomu Bazookas, or Kamehamehas. He also confirmed that any third party characters included must have appeared on a Nintendo platform. Basically, no Master Chief. He also had another reassuring piece of information, “Anyways, at most we’ll add another 1 – 2 [third party] characters, maybe?”

In my opinion, that’s a perfect amount. It’s not too much and it doesn’t make Snake look too special. I’d say Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man would probably be the safest bet in this case. How about you?
