Sakurai Says No Smash for DS

SSB64According to a translation of Masahiro Sakurai‘s words, “Fans should look forward to the Wii version instead of a DS version.” So that should put to rest any rumours people are having of a handheld version of Nintendo’s popular fighter. Seeing as Iwata does not trust Super Smash Bros. in the hands of anyone but Sakurai and the fact that Sakurai doesn’t exactly work for Nintendo any more, the chances of more than one Smash Bros. per console generation is slim as it is. Not bad seeing as the Wii version will benefit from the extra attention. After all, how are you going to do all the attacks with no analog stick or c-stick? Guess we’ll just have to enjoy Jump Superstars instead!
