At the Electronic Entertainment Expo tomorrow, SanDisk is set to announce that they will begin selling a 2 GB Memory Stick Duo this summer at a suggested retail price of $349.99. SanDisk is the leading manufacturer of flash memory media, and they’re working to make sure every PSP owner has the storage capacity they need for videos and music.
“When the PSP first came out, our 1GB Memory Stick Duos were flying off the shelves faster than we could make them,” a SanDisk representative told Gaming Horizon tonight at a media conference about the sudden demand for Memory Stick media. Prior to the PSP’s launch, Memory Stick was one of the least popular formats and was only made in limited supply. Retail stores have been sold out of 1GB Memory Stick Duo units (SanDisk’s current maximum capacity) for months.
The 2GB Memory Stick Duo from SanDisk will be available in a variety of translucent neon colors.
