Santa sells PS3 for $ 1
Now this may seem crazy, but it looks like a very charitable guy called On Ouchs from Canada is about to make a PlayStation fan very happy on Christmas. How, you ask? By hand-delivering a brand new Sony PS3 which s/he will have bought from eBay for just US$ 1!
On Ouchs paid $1,700 CAD (about $1,500 USD) for a PS3 60 GB console and the games Resistance: Fall of Man and Marvel Ultimate Alliance as well as an extra wireless controller. He also paid $ 750 to get a spot in line at his local game store. Now he wants to give someone a happy Christmas by giving it away for virtually nothing.
To try and “win” the PS3 auction for $ 1, you can try buying it now, but remember to register first at the Write to Santa page (just follow the Read link at the bottom of this post). Anybody who makes what On calls the “good list” will be placed on a pre-approved bidder list to buy the PS3 for just $1, and at that point, whoever gets the bid in first wins. Delivery is free worldwide and On Ouchs is making an effort to be able to deliver the PS3 by hand to the bidder’s doorstep if possible. His reasons for doing this?
Now why – you ask – am I doing this? I am a nice guy and I want to make someone’s Christmas a little brighter this year.
I want to make history and, in the process, maybe make an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and other television talk shows. I was initially going to list this PS3 for $1 million, with 90 percent going to charity, but found others had already gone that route. I wanted to be unique and, quite possibly, give a PS3 to someone who might not be able to afford it otherwise.
